Vera Cruz

Superb film featuring beautiful scences, fine acting, clever dialogue, good action, and best of all Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster. The main cast is excellent with many stars. A classic film and top five for any Western film fan.

Western with a Mexican setting

Great early Robert Aldrich film with a very original setting for a Western: the French Invasion of Mexico in the 1860s under the reign of Austrian Emperor Maximilian. Cooper and Lancaster get involved in a crazy scheme to transport money for the Emperor while secretly working for the Mexican rebels to overthrow the Empire. Action packed, with a nasty charismatic performance by Lancaster. A must for Western fans.
