Leap of Faith (1992)

Director: Richard Pearce
Release Date:

In a tour-de-force performance, Steve Martin plays Reverend Jonas Nightengale, a slick-as-oil flimflam man who'll trade salvation for a donation to his touring ministry. Jonas knows how to work a crowd and a con, but his works of wonder are done with mirrors and smoke. When his tour bus breaks down, Jonas pitches his tent in impoverished Rustwater, Kansas. While his alluring manager (Debra Winger) tries to persuade the local sheriff (Liam Neeson) not to close the show, Jonas sets his sights on a beautiful skeptic named Marva (Lolita Davidovich). But making a believer out of Marva is going to take a real miracle.

Cool movie

I was an extra in the tent scene. Steve Martin was a nice guy got to talk and just had fun between takes. Meatloaf was not nice I just asked him about the old bats out of hell album, them he talked to me, said he had another bats out of hell 2, Lolita and I got very wet one time by fire houses during the rain scene, I don't know she was a star, we talked briefly nice character, Lucas was about 15 or so nice kid, we talked about his previous movies, he laughed... Was fun...

Buy

Can't wait for the buy option on this movie. It's one of my favorites.

Great!

I love this movie! And would you believe it?I live where it was filmed, not even in Kansas,it's in Plainview, Texas. The water tower with a Bengal on it still stands.

Awe-inspiring movie!

This movie is amazing - funny, sad, joyful, and above all, heartfelt. It's rare that a movie is so entertaining AND so deep in its message. Steve Martin's best work, in my opinion. One of the least-known and best movies ever made. Watch it!
