Kick-Ass
A twisted, funny, high-octane adventure, director Matthew Vaughn brings Kick-Ass to the big screen. Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real- life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

I was a little put off by the title at first; I thought it was overtly trying to make people notice it, so I was expecting a shallow half-comedy, half-action flick. After watching it, however, I realized this movie should be noticed; and, to my surprise, it was a lot more complex than it looks. Mark Strong is a great actor, and is an excellent bad guy in this film. I recommend it to anyone who likes superhero movies or comedies.

I freaking loved this movie, it was the most original film I've seen in a long time. It's over the top violence and humor set it apart from everything else. Everyone that gives this movie anything less than four stars obviously has a horrible taste in movies and is still probably flipping out over an 11 year old girl swearing and killing bad guys.
