Twisters
Twisters brings back the blockbuster disaster epic with a whirlwind of heart-stopping action and exhilarating thrills. Ever since a devastating tornado encounter, Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) gave up chasing storms across the Oklahoma prairie to safely study them on screens in New York City. Lured back to the field by her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) and a once-in-a-lifetime scientific opportunity, Kate crosses paths with Tyler (Glen Powell), a charming daredevil and self-proclaimed tornado wrangler whose thirst for tornado-tracking adventures made him a social media sensation. As storm season intensifies with terrifying phenomena unlike anything seen before, Kate and Tyler realize they may need to work together if they are to have any chance of taming, and surviving, an unprecedented outbreak of destructive tornados.

Twister is one of my top favorite movies, if not the top. I was excited to see this movie, and also worried at the same time that it wouldn’t match up to the first. Not comparing the two movies, this one is very enjoyable to watch. Comparing the two though, I wouldn’t say this one is on par with the original. *spoiler alert* From the start both movies have a similar opening scene. The rodeo scene felt like the drive in movie scene, just with less. The concept of Dorthy to study tornadoes and the concept of disrupting tornadoes by getting in the bears cage was the same. Some of the tornado scenes just felt too brief and a bit rushed. It basically felt like watching the same movie, just with a couple changes and different actors. That being said, stand alone and not comparing, great movie. But comparing the two movies, I think they could of done a lot more, and changed more to make it a little more interesting. Still give 5 stars just for rating it on its own as a great movie.

I just saw the movie, even after its release over 2 months ago. It was amazing. The tornadoes effects are even better than before. Granted, with the exception from DORTHY, the movie never brought up our heroes from the first, I did like that; they created their own world in this one, and it worked. I’d also like to imagine Bill and Jo are happily married, alive and retired with a family in this world. Rest In Peace, Bill.
