Great Movie !

Forget rotten tomatoes this movie was good !

Excellent attention to detail

I would have to say that the movie, on its own, would have to be appreciated less if you didn't read the books. There are so many tiny details that wouldn't be caught unless you were an avid fan of the books, and since the movie was rather fast-paced, difficult to understand at times (again, if you haven't read the series). However, you can tell that there was a lot of thought put into it. The acting was good by most of the characters, and the cinematography was fantastic, along with the special effects. Good fight scenes, action, romance, and a couple of good jump scares. Most characters were well portrayed and matched almost to a tee the descriptions in the books. **SPOILERS** There were only three major things that I became frustrated by: 1) the fact that Simon didn't become a rat when taken by the vampires (which is a major plot point, actually), 2) Valentine didn't come off as a strong villain, or match his description at all, and 3) Hodge gave him the idea to tell Clary and Jace they were siblings in the movie, but in the book, Valentine had already been planning to tell them that and they believed him for the next two books.

Pre-Ordering this Instant!

This movie was beyond my expectations!! With recent book-to-movie adaptations such as The Lightning Thief and The Hunger Games being below my expectations my hopes were not high for this movie. What I had to realize a few months ago is that they can't follow the book to the word because it would be impossible. Here are some differences I can remember: Jocelyn doesn't mention going to Luke's farmhouse The Demon in pandemonium that gets killed is the person that lets Clary and Simon into the club The Hodge fiasco isn't well explained at all but from reading the book I know what's going on Hodge gives Valentine the idea of making Jace and Clary brother and sister Simon doesn't turn into a rat Simon begins turning into vampire already The Portal isn't at Madame Dorthea's Alec gets hurt by a ravener and there is no greater demon Some BIG things that I saw show me how much detail they put into this movie though. For instance, there is a blonde girl that flirts with Simon Jace is at full sass capacity As is everyone else The greenhouse scene was spectacularly done Simon was even wearing a "Made in Brooklyn" shirt which is an incredible detail Overall I would say that this movie outshines every Young Adult movie adaptation that has been done in the past 5 years I would 700% recommend this to anyone I meet

Loved it!

Awesome loved the book n the movie!

Amazing movie

It was a good adaption from book to movie. There were a few things I didn't like. Like Valentines hair, and the ending was ok I likes the books a bit better but understood they were setting things up for the next movie. I did like how the characters were more involved not just clary and jace like the book was. Finally, I didn't like how they did Hodges character his part I think should have been like the book betrayal and leaving not staying to help out to redeem himself. Overall I liked the movie and rotten tomatoes got it wrong.
