The Way We Were

One of the batch of films made just after Gay Liberation burst onto the scene. Did a lot to introduce America to the topic. Redd Fox was never funnier. Michael Warren an appealing and believable gay son. Always nice to see Pearl Bailey on the screen. Special treat was "Madame" and Wayland Jennings. If you weren't around Madame was this very camp puppet of a certain age. "I went to a costume party dresed as a bottle of poppers" 70's L.A. Bean-bag chairs, macrame plant hangers, Dashikes, etc. A funny and gentle spoof on the "sexual revolution"

Funny!

A start in the affirming period of LGBT inclusion in mainstream media. Helped pave the way.
