Presented by Cracking The Cryptic, YouTube’s most popular Sudoku channel, comes a new game featuring one of the most popular puzzle types: Thermo Sudoku.
How does Thermo Sudoku work? Well each sudoku grid contains thermometer shapes (often drawn to create themes) and digits on thermometers must increase as one moves further from the bulb end. The interactions between the thermometers leads to new logical ideas and patterns that completely refreshes the standard sudoku solving experience.
As with their other games (‘Classic Sudoku’, ‘Sandwich Sudoku’ and ‘Chess Sudoku’), Simon Anthony and Mark Goodliffe (the hosts of Cracking The Cryptic) have personally crafted the hints for the puzzles. So you know that every puzzle has been play-tested by a human being to ensure that the sudoku is interesting and fun to solve.

Hello, thought you might want to know there is a small issue with the book as the thermometer in c6 only rises to r7, rather than it rising to r6 as in this video and the software. Was stuck for ages and as soon as I increased the size of the thermometer it was an easy solve.

NB This puzzle is misprinted in the book (hopefully the only time that happens; I haven't discovered any others!).

Did anyone come here from the C2C book, pg 15? This puzzle is not the same as the one printed in the book. Is this a known issue?

14.54 for me, going over it through the book. Don't think I tried it when it first came out, but I'm fairly confident I wouldn't have been this fast without the years of CTC under my belt. Thank you Simon and Mark!

Oh my god I’m always amazed how Simon really makes himself the task hard in approachable problems, spotting really clever steps whiles so many free digits are available to put.

I've found that in most cases with Thermo sudoku, it helps to note all the possibilities in the cells on the thermometers. It really helps with spotting restrictions, pairs and triples etc.
