468: Procurement for the People - How to Sell to Procurement: A Masterclass w/ Jill Robbins

Procurement has the best seat in the business right now with more influence on spend than ever before, yet still remains incredibly elusive to the sales teams 18 months into pursuing them. We have to ask – is procurement the problem or is sales just not getting it? Regardless of which side you’re on, that answer is probably blocking deals and opportunities for innovation in your organization. It’s the seemingly age-old question asked in this episode of Procurement for the People that now has a very clear answer bridging the gap between those that hold the spend and the ones looking to win their business.  Show host Katherine McCleery brings the two worlds together with guest Jill Robbins, for a masterclass on selling to procurement and how to make an impact on the value chain. Jill opens up her own sales playbook built upon years of experience in procurement.

The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.

It pissed me off indeed...! maar het is

As protests raged across the country in 2020 following the killing of George Floyd, radicals clad in black clothes and face masks emerged on the scene to stoke the chaos and incite violence; foot soldiers for a shadowy network known as Antifa. While its roots stretch back to World War II Nazi Germany, much public confusion remains today regarding Antifa’s philosophy and intentions. Check 26 - Companies - The Transition

26. In transitioning from polluting to non-polluting activities, communities and companies shall be supported fairly. We have finally arrived to this episode, and this crucial check in our pre-flight checklist, as if through layers of an onion to its core, and yet - its as though we have arrived back where we started. It’s about the people. A good example of what not to do, in transitioning communities to the new economy, is simply shutting coal mines. This is what happened under Margaret Thatcher in Britain in the 1980’s, and many communities have never recovered. Glasgow, one-time ship-builder to the empire, lost ground to more dynamic economies around the world and for many years languished in economic depression - but in recent years has experienced a cultural renaissance. Could this have been brought about without the years of pain?Of course it could, and in this episode we rehearse these and other examples to see what is possib

Erin shares her insights, advice, and thoughtful list of “must do’s” for charities as they move forward with fundraising during and after the pandemic. “The lasting effect that I hope we come away with…is an enhancement of the appreciation of the role of philanthropy and the power of fundraising, both in terms of impact on recovery and to build resilience in people and communities.”

Essai routier : Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid (podcast 107)

The Barefoot Beekeeper

Phil Chandler

Asian Hornets Threaten Britain

The Asian Yellow-Legged Hornet - Vespa velutina - has rampaged through France and for the last three years has occupied Jersey in the Channel Islands, threatening to invade mainland Britain using any means possible. Several nests were found and destroyed in 2019 near the south coast of England, but we cannot be certain that others went unnoticed. This insect presents a clear and present danger to honeybees especially, with beekeepers in France losing about one in three of their hives every year to this pest. It will also cause big problems for other bees and other insects, as it has a voracious appetite and a talent for hunting down its prey. Beekeepers will be very much on the front line in the battle to keep V. velutina out of this country, as we are likely to be the first to spot it. Do familiarise yourselves with its appearance and behaviour, and educate others so that we stand the best chance of intercepting it before it becomes establishe
