Just before Christmas in 2022, Myron Pierce alarmed his family, friends and the church he had pastored. He shocked us all while appearing in a string of erratic Instagram posts.He had lost touch with reality, acting out behaviors no one would ever expect from the veteran of over a decade of outstanding ministry and church multiplication. Everything got pushed aside in favor of a life that no one could be proud of.Because of his insane behavior and outlandish activities, those of us who were friends with him sometimes wondered who we saw on our screens. It couldn't have been the same person we knew. He finally called almost three months into his downward slide to say that he had been diagnosed with type one bipolar disorder and that he was checking into a clinic. Just one year after getting help, we decided to do this interview. The goal is to update those who worried and prayed for him. This is NOT an attempt to re-insert him into pastor

Graham Zimmerman's Balancing Act

For all of his expeditions and cutting-edge climbs around the world, Graham Zimmerman’s story is one of balancing adventure and exploration with social responsibility and an examined life. His book, A Fine Line: Searching for Balance Among Mountains demonstrates that, and also serves as an ode to the friends and mentors he’s lost to the mountains. Zimmerman became a professional climber at 24 years old. Now 37, Zimmerman is accomplished well beyond his years. Have you seen a brown marmorated stink bug? If you live in most of the US, the answer is probably yes. Since first being observed in 1998, it has spread to at least 43 states and Washington, D.C. An all-purpose pest, it damages crops and gets inside our houses to keep warm over the winter. Besides that, it is particularly resistant to many insecticides simply based on its body shape. So what can we do? In this episode, we talk with Peter Jentsch, an entomologist at Cornell University's Hudson Valley Laboratory, about the project he's involved in looking for natural enemies of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, with a mission to reduce their populations and the damage they cause. The answer, and tiny wasp with a fierce name, the Samurai Wasp.
