41. Reconnecting to Nature with Dr. Zach Bush | PART 2

Remember that major cliff-hanger in Part 1 of Why Isn’t Everyone Reconnecting with Nature? Well, get ready. Because here is Part 2 of the very special episode with Dr. Zach Bush.

Zach is a physician, thought-leader and founded *Seraphic Group and the nonprofit Farmer’s Footprint to develop root-cause solutions for human and ecological health.

#320: The One About What's His Name

A while ago I heard a sermon titled “Are you humble enough to be carefree?” Honestly, my answer was a resounding “no”. I’m not carefree, I’m careful because I’m prideful. Instead of taking my feelings to God and allowing Him to help me process them, I find myself choosing to numb out.

Isaiah 26:3 (MSG) says, “People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, Steady on their feet because they keep at it and don't quit.” We can trust God; He is a sure thing. When we take what we’re feeling to Him, He is faithful to make us whole.

When allow ourselves to experience negative emotions without numbing them, we won’t get stuck in them. Over time, feeling becomes easier and we can become fully ourselves allowing us to be present with the people around us.

The Performers Relationship with Mental Health and Money with Austin Ryan Hunt

Living and working in Chicago, multi-hyphenate artist Austin Ryan Hunt has had his fair share of professional highs and mental wellness struggles. From the unknowns of the pandemic to the "big break" casting moments, Austin and Emily explore how to maintain tenacity and joy in an art form that can often be fickle. Emily and Austin discuss actor training, finding the play in the profession (and outside of it), and wrestle with the question, "Is this all community theatre?". Austin discusses how he has found and defines success as a performer, and also explains why he has so many plants!

The Feedback Paradox

Intellectually most of us want lots of constructive feedback. But we also often avoid asking for it and can become emotionally distraught when we believe we’ve received some. Why do so many of us experience this paradox? In this episode we’re going to talk about the Feedback Paradox, one of the ways the messages you’ve been socialized with might be impacting how you think about receiving feedback. Twin Fire Signs: The Astrology of Taylor Swift

Shannon & Emily

11: "The Way I Loved You" + BONUS "Renegade feat. Taylor Swift"

Astro Swifties, it's a double feature! With the somewhat surprise drop of "Renegade" by Big Red Machine featuring Taylor Swift, we obviously had to split this episode in two. We start off with AstroTayCast where we go through the release chart for this song, and we go through ALL the lyrics one by one and give our astrological opinions. We then dive back into the Fearless era, and talk all about a Swiftie favorite: "The Way I Loved You"! We talk moon signs, Saturn's "business," and of course, give our younger selves love letters based on the song. It's a jam packed analysis episode you won't want to miss!
