Tristal Watson comes from a family who has always valued education and has dedicated her life to creating equitable learning opportunities for all students. After graduating from college, Tristal began her career as an AmeriCorps tutor in a rural Mississippi school district. After spending a year cultivating the young minds of kindergartners and realizing the lasting impact she had on students, Tristal decided to pursue a career in education. She worked as a teacher and coach before being accepted into the Principal Corps program at the University of Mississippi. Upon graduating, she accepted a role as assistant principal and would later go on to be a head principal. Tristal Watson is a creative & energetic visionary leader who creates positive school culture by building quality relationships and keeping students first! Tristal is currently a first-year doctoral student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a member of the 12th cohort of the Ed.L.D. program. She is excited to continue working to improve the quality and reach of K12 education for all.
