With the case currently unfolding in Ohio, poaching has become a major conversation in the hunting world. Each year thousands of hunter across the U.S. lose opportunities to harvest incredible animals due to poachers. Many cases come across Fish and Game Departments each year and will continue to do so. The majority of states sentence poachers with heavy fines that can range upwards of $30,000. The real question is, can this truly be enough to deter individuals from poaching again. How many of the cases are resulting in fines and how many poachers are actually getting caught? We wanted to dive into our own experience on the matter and the information from the Ohio case to give our opinions on the repercussions of poaching chargers.
