Machismo in Academia

This week Estrellita will be sharing her thoughts and feedback she has had from conversations in the past, about the machista mentality. And how it affects all genders from Latin America. The thing is mi gente the machismo mentality stems from ego and how does someone keep their ego high? Well they avoid failing as much as possible. If someone who follows the machista mentality does not fail, then they will stay feeling comfortable and literally sticking to what they know... in not the most positive light.... this is extremely contradicting in itself especially for Latinxs that are navigating through higher education without accepting the fact that failure happens, and that is how we learn and grow.
