Magnificently horrifying

The Acting truly is quite a remarkable. Helen Mirren and Ian McKellan are absolute masters of their craft and make for quite the duo in this film. However it is, by itself in script, plot, and pacing a burden to watch as you know what is going to happen, just not how exactly. And the twists and turns all make it all the more horrifying as they unravel. I wished this was more of a romantic comedy after watching the first 20 min. But alas you are left with a revenge tale 60 years in the making. All in all, I’m glad I watched it once for the splendid performance of acting, but never again.

The last 20 minutes were fantastic

I was quite bored through the film as the pacing and storyline is very slow and very dry until things start coming together. I can't say that it is worth it to sit through the film to make it to the ending, but if you do watch it and make it to the end, it turns around completely and produces a very interesting and intriguing conclusion. Just not well developed prior to the ending. The performances are what brought it up to star 3, rather than keeping it down at 2.

INTERESTING

Interesting but it was too predictable. I knew Helen Mirren was going to double cross Ian McKellen. And love how in the end threw in the diversity cast. Good old Woke always comes out these days.

Good, slow storyline.

Right from the start you can sense something is awry. Great lead actors, good storyline a bit slow to get into action.

Talent Draws the Audience

Picked this movie based on the cast and they did not disappoint. It was a moving though difficult storyline, held together by wonderful acting. Minimal, mostly dull sets, plus a few disconnects in the storyline, plus too much emphasis on smoking, did not endear me to the film. Overall, it was worth seeing because of the talented actors.
