Mortal Kombat (2021)

Director: Simon McQuoid
Release Date:

MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Violent Action Movie, With A Hint of Story

I really enjoyed this film. It was exactly what I wanted, little bit of story (too much?) wrapped up in a whole bunch of action.

Missing the magic of the originals

This new MK was OK. Not horrible, but not great either. It was worth a watch, but not repeat performances. Script was boring, the acting felt forced, and the plot was sketchy at best. I expected much more. Definitely NOT worth the $25 Apple is trying to charge. Wait until this movie is in the $10 bin.

A FUN film. Absolutely not terrible. Which I thought it would be.

Kano. That is all.

Here it comes.

Here comes all the butt hurt super fans that like to complain just to do so and come here just to give it a bad score. NEWS FLASH, the movie did so well HBO Max considers it a huge success. Sorry you lost, we won. The new MK movie is amazing and I can’t wait for MK2. #DealHoney.

It's a MK flick, you get what you came for and it's great

If you are looking for deep storytelling, then go watch the revenant. If you want realism, then go watch the raid. If you want to see the characters you know and love from the mortal Kombat series in their best form yet on the silver screen, then this is for you.
