Unfinished

Good retelling of the story up to the ending of part 1. Needs to be probably 2 more parts to do the whole thing. I guess they are doing a lord of the rings type trilogy or at least a 2 parter

Amazing & Cannot wait for more

By the way, reviewing one star based on the price is moronic. The movie was released on HBOMax same day as theaters. If they need to do this to make money back in order to make a sequel or more, then great. Also, if you don’t want to spend $30 why go to the trouble of commenting on it, just don’t do it and wait until - like every single other new release - the price is dropped later on. This does not require that much thought.

Part I, Parr II at end 2023

Had I known I would not have bought it….

Poor choices were made.

I expect a movie version of the epic which is "Dune" to protray the author's story. Having a Troubadour Warrior like Gurney Halleck that does not sing, or having a black female Liet Kynes who was the brother of Stilgar and father of Chani? Spoiler, having a final scene in which stillsuits were worn, when in the book they were not. This director is more concerned with cinematic scenes and action vs. accuracy and I can't blame him for the easy $ waiting to be made. David Lynch (Adam Smithee), even though he would love nothing more than to disassociate from his version, absolutely nailed the casting. His movie's main flaw was the "weirding modules." The scy-fy channel hit most of the story notes, but the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen was & bumbling/rhyming *#!show. I'd have to rate this version somewhere between the Sci-Fy channel on the low side, and the David Lynch version on the high side. However, there remains yet to be a proper rendition of this story in my opinion.

Surprisingly bland for a movie about Spice

I'll take David Lynch's glorious mess from the '80s over this uninspired bore anyday. At least that had its own style. This felt like Denis Villeneuve's "Ridley Scott's Dune" .
