The Philadelphia Phillies are now 20 games over 500 after they completed the sweep of the Washington Nationals with an 11 to 5 victory Sunday afternoon!

The Philadelphia Phillies were able to come back and beat the Washington Nationals 4 to 3 in 10 innings! The Phillies got a solid start from Cristopher Sanchez who tossed 7 innings of two run baseball allowing eight hits and also striking out eight.

Zach Wheeler tossed 7.1ip allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six as the Phillies beat the nationals 4 to 2 and the opener of their 3-game series!

After the Phillies used 7 pitchers the previous night in an 11-inning loss to the Mets, Wheeler gave his team all his had, including 4 bonus outs. Wheeler started the 7th inning at 91 pitches, then needed just 9 pitches to retire the side in the inning. He was able to record one more out in the 8th, before giving way to Jose Alvarado, who finished the inning. Jeff Hoffman came on to close out the 9th and did so needed just 10 pitches.
